Cathy Skipper (certified Aromatherapist) and Florian Birkmayer MD., have been using aromatic oils for decades for deep inner transformation be it in the office, or through their work at Aromagnosis. They pioneered a unique framework for the use of aromatics in the context of psychedelic assisted therapy. Cathy’s Attars was born from the increased demand for the rare and unique oils they had sourced from true small scale distillers. Each oil they work with and provide is carefully selected and curated to not only be of high quality, direct from producers they know and trust, but also resonate on a subtle level.
Having ran a wine and herbal farm in France for 10 years, Cathy and her family have a deep respect and appreciation for “Terroire”. This French term captures the importance of place, on the quality of agricutural goods.
Unlike mass-produced oils, where complex networks of buyers and sellers broker oils as commodities, leaving behind the land, the stories, and the families that may have worked to produce the plants, we are proud to only source directly from small-scale farmer/distillers we know and love. This allows us to provide oils with a level of traceability that is not otherwise possible, as well as retaining the unique identity of each distiller, there methods, the land, and the culture they evolve in. We don’t hide our producers but rather put them front and center! And we are proud to spread their precious work.
