Energetic Profile: Cleansing, purifying (used traditionally in purification rituals), clears the energy in indoor spaces. Distiller Maltz Hozzel refers to ketones as molecules that have an ‘anti-matter energy.’
Smell: The aroma of Artemisia tridentata essential oil is herbaceous, camphoraceous, and earthy with a strong, fresh scent. It has a sharp and medicinal undertone, often associated with its high concentration of ketone-terpenes [1], [2].
Perfumery Note: middle note [2].
Main Chemical Constituents: camphor, 1,8-cineole, borneol, and β-pinene [1], [2].
Adulteration and quality: This aromatic oil being exclusively offered and produced by small scale craft distillation in the USA, the relative risk of voluntary adulteration compared to globally traded oils is significantly reduced (Jah Skipper, 2024).
Distiller’s Notes: We distilled this batch in spring and we are surrounded, as Big Sagebrush is the dominant species in the plains near us. We’re excited to be distilling during other seasons, resulting in different aromas.
