Broom Snakeweed Essential Oil

Description

Energetic Properties: Purifying (some tribes used it to purify the body before a hunt), also used in sweat baths.

Smell: crystalline, fluid, fresh, lingering

Perfumery Note: This oil is generally considered a middle note in perfumery, providing balance and body to fragrance blends. Middle notes often emerge after the top notes dissipate and form the core of the fragrance​ [1].

Main Chemical Constituents: β-pinene, limonene, α-phellandrene, and (Z)-β-ocimene [1].

Adulteration and quality: This aromatic oil being exclusively offered and produced by small scale craft distillation in the USA, the relative risk of voluntary adulteration compared to globally traded oils is significantly reduced (Jah Skipper, 2024).

Distiller’s Notes: An extremely rare essential oil, snakeweed was a highly revered medicinal plant in the Southwest herbal tradition.
