Ruh Khus (Wild Vetiver) Essential Oil

Ruh Khus is the traditional Indian name for the essential oil distilled from wild vetiver. 

Energetic Profile: This oil has a deeply earthy pulse with a slightly smoky note, which then leads into a smell of texture. The texture of embodiment, grounded reality and dried, cut wood.

Vetiver encourages us to let go of using the intellect as our armor or castle. It invites us to really feel at home in our bodies and discover what it feels like to fully live and be present in our physical bodies. By building a solid, loving relationship with our physical bodies, we begin to feel more confident and centered. Our feelings, thoughts, emotions and interactions are anchored in our flesh and bones.

It is a great oil for someone who has felt frightened of being in the body, maybe due to past abuse. When working with a practitioner to come back into the body after dissociation, this oil is perfect because it isn’t just grounding and embodying, but gives a sense of feeling safe in the body. Pairs extremely well with rose attar for this type of work.   

Ruh Khus for intimacy – We often use Ruh Khus (wild vetiver) essential oil to help us get into the mood and to come fully into our bodies in a safe and nurturing way. Adding 15 drops to half a cup of your favorite massage oil is perfect. It really grounds and embodies and makes a joy to be in the body and feel sensations on our skin. Welcoming ourselves home to our body is absolutely necessary when you have a tendency to dissociate during intimacy. With Ruh Khus you can be fully present to enjoy sex.

Perfumery note: Base note

Main Chemical Constituents:Alpha (α)-vetivone, Beta (β)-vetivone,khusimone (1) 

Adulteration and quality: Adulteration has been reported, but is difficult due to the complexity of the oil (200-500 constituents). (2) We trust that our distiller in India does his best to avoid adulteration.
