Energetic Properties: Thyme is stimulating, energizing and toning to the physical and mental bodies. It helps with communication bringing through the voice a sense of self confidence. A helpful oil to smell when there is a need to combat fear, anxiety, and insecurity.
Recommended for lymphatic types and people suffering from weariness and a lack of mental and/or physical energy.
Physical Properties: Due to the large quantity of thujanol this oil contains, its principal action is anti-infectious on a large spectrum, antibacterial, antifungal. (Dr. A. Zhiri – D. Baudoux). Good to smell when suffering from coughs or respiratory tract infections. Immunostimulant.
Smell: This beautiful thyme is softer than industrially produced thymes and blends herbaceous notes with spicey notes with a lemony undertone.
Perfumery Note: Top note
Main Chemical Constituents: thujanol, carvacrol, paracymene, gamma-terpinene, linalool
Precautions: Do not use with breastfeeding mothers or with children under twelve years of age.
Due to the high phenol content, thyme essential oil is caustic to the skin. Never use undiluted on the skin (5% dilution in a carrier oil is the maximum for applied use)
Do not use in cases of liver insufficiency
Do not use in an essential oil diffuser.
Adulteration and quality: A review of the literature did not reveal any research suggesting adulteration of this essential oil is a common phenomenon. We are confident that our friend and distiller in France does not adulterate his essential oils.
